Magnetic Writable HPL for Classrooms and Collaborative Workspaces

2026-07-30

One panel, several functions

Modern classrooms and meeting areas need surfaces that can change with the activity. Magnetic writable HPL combines a decorative panel with a surface for notes, diagrams and magnetic displays. Instead of adding a small framed board after installation, designers can integrate a larger working area into walls, cabinet fronts or movable partitions.

Specify the intended writing system

“Writable” is not a complete specification. Confirm whether the surface is intended for dry-erase markers, chalk or another system, and test the exact pen and cleaner before approval. Buyers should also verify magnetic holding strength with the magnets that will actually be used. Heavy accessories may require a different mounting solution even when paper and cards attach securely.

Design and fabrication considerations

Panel size, joint layout, edge treatment and substrate flatness affect the finished result. Large visual fields make uneven joints easier to notice, while poor support can reduce writing comfort. The fabricator should receive clear instructions for cutting, bonding and cleaning. For schools, rounded edges and durable details around frequently used areas deserve particular attention.

How to approve a project sample

Ask for a production-representative sample and conduct repeated writing, erasing and magnetic attachment tests. Review color and gloss under the final lighting. Confirm fire, emission and durability documentation required by the project. Once approved, record the marker type, cleaning method and sample code in the handover package so facility teams can maintain the surface correctly.
